Located 13 km from Mytilene, Thermi enchants with its lush landscape, picturesque market, and traditional cafés. Its beach, with the healing springs, and the Thermi Towers, with their historical 18th-19th century towers, stand out. Visit the Monastery of Saint Raphael, the prehistoric settlement of "Petralona," and the Church of Panagia Turloti with its wooden carved altar. A destination that combines nature, history, and authenticity.
The ideal location of the villas offers easy and safe access to some of the most picturesque and unique destinations in Lesvos, such as Molyvos with its impressive castle perched atop the hill, Skala Eressos with its crystal-clear waters and three-kilometer beach, the fishing village of Sigri with the unique Petrified Forest, the mountainous and lush Agiasos, Plomari —the home of ouzo—, Kalloni, the vast beach of Vatera, Mandamados with the famous church of Archangel Taxiarchis, and Skamniá, the birthplace of writer Stratis Myrivilis.
The Petrified Forest of Lesvos, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a unique natural phenomenon featuring fossilized trees formed by a volcanic eruption 20 million years ago. It offers valuable insights into the region’s geological history and biodiversity, and is one of the island’s top tourist attractions, with museums highlighting its significance and discoveries.
There is a bus stop right in front of the villas with routes to Mytilene, while the airport is just 16 kilometers away.
Historical Significance of the Area
The area of Thermi in Lesvos has a history of 6,000 years, starting with the worship of the goddess Artemis and the healing springs that made it a resort for Greeks and Romans. Archaeological excavations have revealed prehistoric settlements, Roman baths, and imposing monuments, while the medieval villages have preserved their charm intact.
Over the centuries, Thermi became a center of culture and tourism, with the iconic Saritzia Palace Hotel bringing back some of the Roman grandeur. The area hosted refugees after the Asia Minor Catastrophe of 1922 and still retains a unique natural, historical, and cultural character to this day.
